Over the course of his several years in the fine wine auction market, most recently as a wine specialist for Christie’s auction house in New York, Per Holmberg has developed a keen understanding and appreciation of wine collecting, both for enjoyment and from an investment standpoint.
During his four years at Christie’s, Per was credited with bringing Burgundy to the forefront of the global auction market, and oversaw close to $15 million in consignments, from the legendary Doris Duke collection to the Lenoir Josey sale. He also traveled extensively for Christie’s, visiting private cellars as well as managing tastings and wine talks, and appeared on television programs including CNBC’s Street Signs and Martha Stewart Living.
Prior to Christie’s, Per was with Morrell’s auction house, where his fluency in French offered him the opportunity to catalog Maxim’s wine cellar in Paris, which Morrell’s auctioned in collaboration with Etude Tajan, one of the 13 auctions Per managed during his time at Morrell’s. |
